INGLORIOUS 9 INCH BASTERDS!

THE A-TEAM OF PIXIE DUST!

THE DIRTY DOZEN WITH WINGS!

Combat Fairies is a punk urban fantasy action adventure comic series about a tactical team of 9 inch tall fairies that take on monsters both human and mythological 10 times their size with smarts, sass, snark and savagery.

Available in serialized digital chapters or a 3 volume graphic novel trilogy.

War is a bloody mess. Especially when there's two of them. Centuries ago the Otherworld decided to hide itself from the mortal realm. But now that the mortals have broken out into their third World War, the question is raised; do they stay hidden? Or do they come out of the shadows and help end the bloodshed? It's a dividing question that leads to a Civil War. As the two worlds fall apart, a tactical team of fairies, Aela, Enora, Brietta, Kiani and Cinnia are sent on mission after mission until a new target puts them in the States and forces them to question their place in everything. Now they have enemies on all sides of both battles. If they wanna live they're gonna have to blast their way through demons, witchcraft, monsters and hails of gunfire. If they wanna end a war or two they're gonna need something more.

A year ago Addison Quinn Kearney gave birth to an infant Fomorian creature that instantly grew to a monstrous size and began killing hundreds on Vancouver Island. A year ago a rampaging dragon, that had been hibernating for centuries beneath the ocean, tore that same island apart. A year ago the mortal world discovered the Otherworld was real. The destruction was brought to an end by the heroics of the Combat Fairies; Aela, Brietta, Enora, Kiani and Cinnia, but nothing will ever be the same again.

Now the fairies are travelling the world acting as mercenaries for hire and helping those in need wherever they might be. Meanwhile Addison sits in prison riding out a controversial sentence for the attempted murder of former US President, Hudson Hicks. But when the guilt of past sins starts to weigh heavier and heavier on Addison's shoulders she and those around her begin to worry that she might be losing her mind. And when the fairies begin hearing more and more rumblings about an impending apocalypse, a mysterious underground cult, and Addison's fate, it becomes clear that things weren't tied in the tight bow they had once hoped. Now the fairies need to piece together the clues, dodge bullets, claws and teeth, and follow the trail that will lead them to answers and maybe back to their friend, if she doesn't tear herself apart first.

It's been six months since the mysterious Exqiveritem cult ripped open a gateway between our world and the chaotic thirteenth dimension known as Domhamsegye; home of the long thought dead Fomorian race. Instantly and with unthinkable speed the Fomorians began to spread across the globe like a rampant disease, poisoning Earthly vegetation, overtaking landscapes and destroying architecture, infecting humans, enslaving Otherworld beings and killing anything that stood in its way. Now Fomorian creatures of every kind walk the streets, leaving some survivors huddled in fear for survival, while the more amoral and opportunistic live like kings in their monstrous shadows.

Aela, Enora and Brietta are now in hiding in South America to protect Addison, who still seems to be a person of interest to the entire Fomorian race, while Kiani and Cinnia have been missing since the battle at Edgegate. But when Addison starts suffering from intense migraines and visions of what the Fomorian infected humans from Edgegate might be up to, the fairies hatch a plan to get to the bottom of it, hoping in the process they may find answers to better understand what's happening to their world. Meanwhile across the Atlantic, a dark presence is rising, the still yet to surface leader of the Fomorians, the malevolent and powerful god known as Balor. Will his rise be the final straw that tightens the Fomorian stranglehold on Earth into death? Or will the Fairies find a way to a weak spot and end this all in a final blood soaked showdown?

AELA

Species: Fairy - Age: 330 - Birthdate: June 7, 1688 - Birthplace: Crossnacreavy, North Ireland - Specialties: Tactical Strategy, Crack shot

Obsessed with mortal world entertainment from a young age, Aela eventually found herself gravitating to the action adventure of 80s movies which would inspire her mission techniques moving forward. Feeling isolated from the people around her, Aela took to seeking adventure like the ones in the movies as a way to mask the anxiety and self doubt that plagued her. She took to extreme stunts with no real purpose asside from adrenaline and also took on more specific missions for herself when the opportunity struck. She foiled a mortal realm kidnapping once that she went completely uncredited for. On a self appointed mission to rescue some vacationing Brownies entangled in a hostage situation in China, Aela was attacked by a savagely mistreated and mistrained Qilin which almost trampled her to death and had it not been for the arrival of Morrigan and her team of Combat Fairies, she would’ve died. Aela was brought back to the CFC HQ in Drudwyn to heal and, feeling she owed her a debt of gratitude, aided Morrigan in her affairs around the HQ until she was again fit for battle and officially recruited to join the corps.

The Combat Fairy Corps offered acceptance that Aela had never felt before. And she saw a mother like figure in Morrigan that she had never experienced. Her time with the corps has built her self confidence and she has come a long way from her early anxiety, though it has not completely vanished. Aela has a soft spot for the mortal realm and its pop culture that inspires her, which is a conflicting opinion to Morrigan who is not at all mortal friendly...leading to some unspoken tension between them that Aela’s self doubt won’t allow her to face. While most teams in the corps use magic and more typical fairy means of fighting, Aela takes heavy inspiration from her mortal movies.

ENORA

Species: Fairy - Age: 330 - Birthdate: April 18th, 1688 - Birthplace: Crossnacreavy, North Ireland - Specialties: Sharp shooter, science & tech

Born and raised in the same flower patch, Enora was childhood friends with Aela, whom she first learned to shoot with. As they grew up, Aela’s interest in adventure took her on various quests, while Enora’s interest in science took her to Russia at the age of 190 to study the subject. She trained through an Otherworld institution in Moscow but also sat uninvited and unseen through multiple courses at the National Institute of Science and Technology. While her training at the Otherwold school focused mainly on chemistry, the time spent in MISIS was mostly focused on tech. Enora used her abilities to infiltrate a government lab after learning of cruel experimentation on animals and attempted to sabotage their organization by tainting a chemical supply that would turn all their products green. Something went wrong with the process though and a chemical explosion blinded her. Returning home to Crossnacreavy she was almost immediately dragged on a recon mission with Aela, who’d recently joined the Combat Fairy Corps, to make use of her tecnological know-how. The mission was in Japan where they met Kiani who ultimately cured her blindness with a spiral stone she now wears on her beltbuckle in order to retain her sight.

Enora is easily the quietest of the team but she’s not without hot blood. Her silence comes along side her always mindful and working brain. She’s very sensitive to social injustice and will never hesitate in action. The spiral stone returns her sight and actually improved her already impressive aim but she sees in tints of green.

BRIETTA

Species: Fairy - Age: 360 - Birthdate: March 27, 1658 - Birthplace: Kariba, Zimbabwe - Specialties: Demolition, hand to hand

Brietta was born in Africa but followed a group of explorer fairies to South America at a young age. Eventually, seeing a potential fortune ahead of them the group started working in a mine, digging smaller tunnels hidden from the mortals who started the main mine so they could extract quantities of gold right under their noses to eventually sell. This went on for several years and turned a strong profit and the experience bulked up Brietta’s already solid physique and gave her a working understanding of explosives, both magic and mortal as well as just general demolition tactics. Work in the mine continued until an accident pinned Brietta’s wing, trapping her for several days inside. She emerged with a weakened wing and a fear of inclosed spaces. Not wanting to return to the mine she set off on her own and began hunting Chupacabras to save a group of goats at a family farm. She sold the Chupacabra meat through the same channels that the gold was being sold in. Eventually she was confronted by Aela, Enora and Kiani for information regarding other shady business practices with the traders. She refused to rat out anybody but wound up entangled in their mission when a battle erupted and her conscience wouldn’t let any innocent bystanders be harmed. After the mission Aela and the others recruited her to join their team.

Though not by a huge margin, Brietta is the oldest of the team and her wisdom often comes in handy. Dropping anecdotes about her experiences or occassional passages from the ample reading material she’s absorbed. Her wing never fully healed from the mine so she’s not the fastest flyer but the rocket she wears on her back helps her compensate over long distance, although she’s been known to use it in battle from time to time too. Brietta is strong and often handles most of the physical heavy lifting. Even if stripped of her weaponry she’s a fierce opponent in a fight.

KIANI

Species: Fairy - Age: 250 - Birthdate: April 1, 1768 - Birthplace: Kells, County Meath, Ireland - Specialties: Magic, Explosives

The only member of the team to dabble in the mystic arts, Kiani is the go-to for anything magic related. She also suffers from a gambling addiction, which has gotten herself into trouble on multiple occasions. The most notable of those occasions was when she wound up on a Dokkaebis hitlist. After a huge win, which she was accused of accomplishing with the aid of magic(she was actually counting cards), she went on the lam to escape death. Eventually, while hiding out in the basement of a sleezy Japanese hotel, the Dokkaebis, Won-Shik, and his cohorts caught up to her. Meanwhile, Aela and the recently blinded Enora were at the same hotel on a recon mission that went bad. The chaos that erupted resulted in Aela killing Won-Shik. Kiani was able to use a magic spiral stone to give Enora her sight back as a thank you for their help against Won-Shik. Impressed with her abilities and conviction, Aela recruited her to join the corps.

Kiani is easily the most eccentric of the Combat Fairies. She might even be clinically insane. She’s whip smart and fast with a comeback. Her gambling has been kept mostly in check in recent years but she does have to fight the urge when the opportunity for a bet comes along. She’s especially close with Cinnia, the youngest member of the team who was immediately drawn to Kiani and her fast talking wise cracking sense of humor.

CINNIA

Species: Fairy - Age: 190 - Birthdate: June 12, 1828 - Birthplace: Rye, England - Specialties: Swordplay, hand to hand, strategy

Cinnia left her fairy community at the age of 160 not feeling she fit in with anybody. She eventually found seclusion in a forest near Wales while she practiced her sword work and martial arts, inspired heavily to do so by the films and television of the time. Living on her own, she became exceptionally resourceful and a strong hunter. Cinnia’s living arrangements were stumbled upon by an ogre and its extended family that lived in a wooded mansion, and claimed ownership of the entire forest and its inhabitants. The ogre, Cadoc tried to tax Cinnia for her residence there but she resisted. Unable to physically catch her, Cinnia was able to continue on living there and briefly was looked at as an involuntary mascot for freedom among the small group of beings spread among the forest. Eventually, after killing the Ogre’s pet Bunyip in self defense, attempts to capture her grew more aggressive and ultimately successful. Cinnia was to be hung by magic when all four of the other Combat Fairies appeared on a mission to stop Cadoc’s reign. Cinnia was rescued just in time and joined in the fight, earning herself a spot on the team.

The Combat Fairy team is the first group that’s ever felt welcoming to Cinnia. She suffers from severe anxiety and self doubt but is good at hiding it. A trait which Aela shared at a younger age. Cinnia’s best friend is Kiana but she looks up to Aela with great admiration. She’s a whiz with a sword but not the greatest shot and her ingenuity makes her the McGuyver of the team.
